DICO. Digital Career Stories. Opening new career paths for arts and culture students (2021-2023) is a European- project
funded by the European Commission under the edge of the Erasmus + Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices programme (KA226 - Partnership for Digital Education Readiness).
DICO project aims at supporting students’ professional growth through digital career story methods. The project coordinated by the Turku University of Applied Sciences (Finland), involves University of Macerata (Italy) and other three universities in the field of cultural and creative industries from different European countries: Staffordshire University (United Kingdom), Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (Hungary), and Technological University Dublin (Ireland).
During the project, the consortium developed, and piloted innovative art-based methods related to the Digital Career Story methodology. First, professors were trained by participating in three international workshops on reflective diary and digital storytelling, drama and theatre and design thinking methods. Then, the learnt methods have been transferred to students through national workshops, in order to explore the potential of art-based active learning methodologies in enhancing students’ professional identity and improving their skills for facing the job market.
The results and experiences gained during DICO project as well as the materials produced are included in the Toolkit for Digital Career Stories, a handbook for teachers and career counselors, containing the digital Career Stories Methodology, the results of the evaluation activities and learning materials.
